Cloud Forest Nature Walks
The main reason why you should visit Monteverde is to hike in one of the many Nature Preserves we have in the Area. The biodiversity found in these park is amazing. We a have over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, and 1000 species of amphibians and reptiles , over 1000 species of plants including 400 sppecies of orchids & the famous strangler fig tree that we visit daily. Monteverde is one of the few remaining habitats that sustains all six species of the cat family – jaguars, ocelots, pumas, oncillas, margays, and jaguarundis. Some of the most poplar anilmal you will find are: Quetzals, toucans, bellbirds, manakins, motmots. You must take in cosideration that not beacuse these animals live here you will see them all, its advised that you contract a profesional bilingual guide to walk you thru the forest and show what there is to see. Indoors, Art & Agriculture
In Monteverde depending on the season it rains alot Sep - Oct - Nov. This is what we, the locals, consider as the rainy season. Many travelers wonder what they can do in this time. There are many activities to visit such as nature exhibitions, the frog pond i a great example. its and exhibitions of over 25 live species of anphibinas in glass terrariums. Other exhibitions such as this one is the Serpentarium, the butterfly Garden and the bat jungle. There is also the orquid garden, the hummingbird garden.
